Gotta love suburbia

There are days when I long for the hustle and bustle of a more urban setting. There are many more days however, like when we're rushing to school in the morning, that I'm thankful the only "traffic" is the line of cars at the red light.

Now that my son can say "car," I am even more thankful. He points out each car on the ride to school. Every car. Poor kid would lose his voice--and possibly his mind--if we were on a six-lane highway!

Interestingly enough, last night we had company, and I was explaining to the 11-year-old boy (as we were walking home from the awesome neighborhood Mexican place) that because we live in the city, we don't use the car very much -- we can walk or metro so many places. One elementary school is 2.5 blocks away, another is 3.5 blocks. Fact is, we only get on those highways you fear when we're going into the suburbs (or beyond).

I love suburbia. Where I live, I can get to downtown Los Angeles in 20 mins. Best of both worlds.

I know what you mean. After living in the Jacksonville area, that was enough traffic for me. Orlando was even better. As for J learning the word "car"..way to go. Now you just have to be careful when he says "watch out for that car" every time he sees on in the other lane. That is what R was doing up until about a month ago. He didn't realize that they had their own lane, and we were ok. Have fun in the burbs :)

I just love your word verification letter combos. I know they are random, but still, mine for the last comment was matbat...is that a combination of my son and batman? :)

Joey,
Yep. I design my own word verifications.
