Don't ask
If you don't want to hear the answer, you should not ask the question. Especially if you're considering asking a toddler. (You'd think the third time around, I'd know better!)
I asked the toddler what he would like for lunch. "M&Ms!"

We must be related, although I think I would have said "peanut butter cups". Did you let him have some M&M's for lunch? If so, you are the best mommy ever!!
I gave him three. (Most of his lunch was mac-n-cheese, so it wasn't the healthiest lunch ever, no matter how you look at it. But I didn't give the kid a bag of candy for lunch)!

That's a good compromise. 3 is what I would give Ryan for keeping his pants dry and going potty :)
I'll eat lunch with that kid any day! ;-)
