Forget historical fiction

I've got to learn how to write contemporary fiction. So I can use everyday life events. Like when the toddler gives the dog a Skittle.

Or when I can't find the time to run with the dog so the Universe does it--the wind is blowing a basketball around the backyard and she is LOVING the game!

Wait! I'd bet they had both basketballs and backyards 100 years ago. I'll try to work that in! ;)

Sounds like a great plan. They didn't have skittles 100 years ago, but I'm sure you could figure out a substitute. I'm sure 2 year olds gave dogs other things then too :) Just write! I need new stuff to read! :)

Writing but you won't like mine. All the characters are muggles. ;)
