In all fairness, it is the writer's first book. I hope, one day, when my book is done and out there--my critics will offer more than two words.
I decided recently to give it another shot. It is getting better. The narrator bothered me but as it turns out, he thinks of himself as quite a know-it-all. That doesn't make me like him any better but makes me want to give the author the benefit of the doubt.
So The Gargoyle is back on my nightstand. At least, until I find something else to read.

I read so many bad reviews for this book, I didn't bother. Too many books and not enough time.
I'm between books right now. A couple of my favorite authors are coming out with new books this month so I will probably hang loose for a bit. Plus, my schedule is swamped with kid activities, I pretty much don't have time. And I'm in a writing mood.
Rene,
Good luck with the writing! I'm in a writing mood myself but I've got one sick kid, husband on call (not unusual--just can't count on him sitting with her, etc) and, oh yeah, I can't seem to stop checking in on facebook!
Hmm...very intersting. I'm a huge believer in Karma and destiny! I think Karma looks at the whole picture. I'm sure you do plenty of nice things to offset an "honest" opinion.
I dunno---had an off week right after I said his writing was bad! I'll just have to finish mine and send it to him so he can say something mean/honest, too. ;)
Nope. Got almost half way through but I just can't go any further. Life is too short and Rene is right--there are too many other books out there to read!
