I went for a run on Monday, hoping the fresh air would blow the cobwebs out of my head and I could figure out how to sort out all of these scenes, words, chapters...
I did come up with an answer and I think it will make a better book. But I have to dump over 30,000 words.
I really hate that.

Sounds like a good way to find a solution. However, are you sure you have to dump all those words. Maybe you only have to get rid of 29,000 :) Just trying to help. Save those words as an idea for a sequel :)
Yeah--maybe it's only 28,999! ;)
The idea isn't going anywhere but has to be from another perspective. One of the main characters won't be as much of a player in the first part of the book.
